2016 is coming to a close and I'm ready for something positive. We've lost a lot of great in this world over the year and that includes the amazing Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher.
Right now the thought of watching Singing in the Rain or Star Wars is a bit too much. The news that we lost our Princess, our General was heartbreaking.
Carrie Fisher was an amazing human and that had a great deal to do with the way she portrait herself in life and film. She once said she became Princess Leia and never got out of character. She was feisty, fierce, strong, and yet she was still a princess. As this character, she challenged the male dominated expanse. She fought against the empire and the corruptness it brought to society.
I think in our time now we all need to be more like this princess. We need to step out of our comfort zones and start working on making this world better.
As my way of honoring the beloved princess, I picked up her book Wishful Drinking. This was her first memoir and it showed that no one is perfect. She had a lot to deal with in her life and she was successful. This gives me hope to succeed.
