The World Hurts

“The pain we all feel at this dreaded loss reminds me, reminds us, that while we may come from different places and speak different tongues, our hearts beat as one.”

-Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

-Yoda

This world we find ourselves day in and day out is hurting. The people here are hurting. They are hurting from pain. They are hurting from sadness. They are hurting for each other. But the saddest part is that we are hurting each other.

We!

This whole situation is out of control and it’s hard to see the light, but we need to. We need to stop the senseless killing. We need to stop choosing a side. We need to start seeing each other as equals; as family.

My Facebook is filled with sadness and I don’t know what to say. Falcon heights, Baton Rouge, Dallas, those are just the places here at home. These are just the ones we see on TV or we read in the ten seconds we take to find out the “news”. We forget that there are many others that don’t make headlines. Both more dreaded sorry, but there are also stories of good and kindness and respect.

We have to learn to be kind to each other. Help each other. Somehow find a way to live together or this world isn’t going to be worth living in. What are we doing for the future generations? What are we teaching them? Are we teaching them to take care of our planet and each other? Or are we teaching fear and ignorance?

Looking at where we are right now, I’d say the latter is pretty close to the truth.

Let’s learn from the past and move forward as one and stop repeating the past.

Please!

I'm Scared

Tonight I lay in bed and wonder what tomorrow will bring. People have told me and I've even told myself one man can't control over a country without those watching him. I'm scared, though, that ther
