Thanksgiving with my Family

This weekend I took a trip to spend an early Thanksgiving with my mom, sister, and niece. My sister is a nurse, so we have these events when she's able to be there. That meant that this year I got a turkey dinner early. This also means this week I got leftovers to enjoy until the next Thanksgiving with his family.

This time of year used to be my absolute favorite. I would go all out. Decorations, Christmas cards, baking treats for everyone. But, for a few years now the holidays aren't really that enjoyable to me. Things change when a family member passes away. There's always grief. There's always memories. This year is just another difficult year for me to endure.

My sister

I try to keep a smile on my face and to fake it through. This year, I'm not hiding it so well. This year has taken a toll on me and a lot of things are bringing pain to my heart.

So, for those who have to deal with me personally, I'm sorry and those who wonder where your Christmas cards are, maybe next year.
