Recovery: Slow Going, but I'll Get There

My last doctor went well. I was scared because I saw the x-rays the day before and not knowing what I was looking at or what it should like, I jumped automatically to the worst possible conclusion.

Luckily, I freaked myself out for no reason. My doctor said everything is still in place and looking good to start physical therapy.

Since that appointment, I’ve had a couple of appointments now and I keep getting more exercises to work my core and start strengthening my arms and legs. I keep telling myself someday these workouts will be my warm ups.

I’ve also started trying to get some extra walking in. I’m trying for 3,000 steps a day. I know that’s not much, but when I was at about 500 last month I’ll take it as a good sign of improvement. I’m still using my braces and the bone stimulator. I don’t wasn’t the bone growth to stop progress.

I’ve been starting to feel like myself. I can stay awake during the day. Nights are still tough as I wake up in strange positions, but that’ll get better too. I’m just happy to be up and able to do things. Sadly, I still can’t go anywhere without my fiancé, but again I’ll get there. I just need to keep going.

Thanks for everyone who has continued to support me and help me out when I need it. You guys rock. Please keep pushing me forward.
