This is Where I Am

I'm laying in bed watching Because I Said So for the billionth time. This isn't exactly where I was hoping to be. I didn't realize recovery was going to be slow. I understood the concept, but until you go through it you never really know.

I had second hand experience with my mom, but again I never truly understood what she was going through or how she felt until now.

I'm learning a lot right now. I'm gaining a better understanding of what it means to be disabled. Luckily for me though, I'll recover. I'll be back up on my feet and I will regain most of what I had lost.

This is a chapter in my life and I will get through this with strength and understanding, which is definitely not easy.

My mantra for the year is "One day at a time."
